“You Don’t Notice How Fast Time Flies When You’re Doing Something That Truly Matters” A conversation with Armen Nersesyan, Head of Product Development at the Visual Armenia Foundation

“Our aim is for WorldView—Brainograph—to resonate across the globe, allowing Armenia to command a significant role in the international education arena, and thereby, perhaps, even enhance our country’s security. The reality is, those who master the most advanced technologies today will be tomorrow’s leaders and trendsetters.”

Armen Nersesyan has played a unique and pivotal role in the creation of the WorldView program. Every technological detail of this innovative educational platform comes to life through his direct involvement. He remembers it vividly—during the 2020 war, Hovhannes Ghazaryan, creator of the WorldView platform, with whom Armen was already collaborating, shared the initial idea.

“At that time, I was also conscripted. Sometimes, I’d get to return to Yerevan. One day, I came back, and I met Hovhannes. We were walking in a park, and he said, ‘I have an idea like this.’ It was still raw, but something clicked in my brain, telling me it was a good idea. Hovhannes asked, ‘Should we try to implement it?’ I immediately said, ‘Absolutely, I’m all for it.’”

Armen, a physicist by profession, had applied for a new educational course – to study product management – even before the war. It was as if everything was falling into place like a mosaic. Classes started after the war, and he realized that his role in bringing this new idea to fruition would be precisely what he was preparing to learn.

“And we began discussions, which are still ongoing, about what we could achieve in two years, five years, and so on. The important thing was that we had identified the right need. At that time, we had done research and found out that people learn anything much faster in a visual format,” recounts Armen Nersesyan, Head of Product Development.

Even the smallest tool takes at least one to two weeks to develop. From identifying the need, planning, designing, programming, testing, and piloting—Armen describes the many phases that often involve sleepless nights before a tool reaches full implementation. Some tools have taken up to six months to complete.

“You don’t notice how fast time flies when you’re doing something that truly matters to you—something that is your priority. Time ceases to be a reference point. The key to our team’s success is that from the very beginning, we believed in the idea. And we still believe in the big vision we’re pursuing. If we want a strong country, if we want to continue existing and playing a role on this planet, we must invest in education. We must develop our education system and give our children the best learning opportunities—ones that are in line with the systems and capabilities of developed countries.”

Armen doesn’t hide the fact that there have been moments of discouragement. But those moments are always followed by a renewed drive and desire to fix the problem and achieve more.

“Back then, we weren’t even planning five percent of what we’re doing now. At that time, it would have seemed impossible that we would have technology used in almost all schools in Armenia, that teachers and principals would say children don’t leave the classroom because they are using WorldView platform with the smart screen they earned and we provided, and don’t even want to leave the classroom during breaks.”
As an Armenian, Armen Nersesyan feels proud that WorldView is one-of-a-kind in the world and entirely made in Armenia. He has a dream that has long since become a goal:

“Our aim is for WorldView—Brainograph—to resonate across the globe, allowing Armenia to command a significant role in the international education arena, and thereby, perhaps, even enhance our country’s security. The reality is, those who master the most advanced technologies today will be tomorrow’s leaders and trendsetters.”

Armen is certain that day will come—because with his team, anything is possible. Here, no one treats this as just a job.
