40 smart boards to 40 public schools: Visual Armenia Development Foundation announced winner schools of charitable competition

We are delighted to announce the completion of the “Technical Re-equipment of Public Schools” competition-based project by Visual Armenia Development Foundation. There are 40 winning schools that submitted projects on the topic “My hometown” and will be granted the latest generation smart-boards.

Recognized as a charitable initiative by the RA Government, the project aims to equip public schools in Armenia with the latest equipment to contribute to the development of project-based learning.

“During the implementation of the “Ashkharhatsuyts” program and our visits to schools with our main donor Christine Simone, the President of Manoogian Simone Foundation, it became clear that to fully utilize all the capabilities of the program and promote project-based learning, the interactive smart-boards would be an important addition to the schools. It was our belief that the schools should earn them as a result of their own work. We were thrilled that Ms. Simone offered to procure 40 smart-boards at once to have a scale effect. We hope to continue this competition again next year.

We have confidence that the smart-boards will allow using modern teaching methods and tools through Ashkharatyuts platform thereby enhancing the effectiveness of the teaching process. Our goal is to uplift education in Armenia to the 21st century requirements to build a competitive and resilient generation ready for challenges of tomorrow”, said Hovhannes Ghazaryan, Executive Director of Visual Armenia Development Foundation, the author of Ashkharatsuyts.

The schools were selected by the Selection Committee, represented by members from the Foundation, educational institutions and RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.

The generous support of the Manoogian Simone Foundation has made it possible to implement this impact-driven project, which is designed to bring a modern touch into Armenian schools.

The official award ceremony will be held on December 2 in Matenadaran, Yerevan.
