From History to the Science of Life: Biology Is Now on WorldView

In 2021, WorldView began its journey with Armenian History. Our aim was to create an innovative learning environment where educational content could come to life across time and space—becoming visual, engaging, and open to exploration.
From that first idea, an entire educational ecosystem gradually emerged. What began with History expanded into new subject areas, the platform gained interdisciplinary content and tools, and our vision became more ambitious: to bring Armenia’s entire general education curriculum to WorldView, one step at a time.
The launch of Biology marks a major milestone on this journey. It takes WorldView into the life sciences and opens a new phase of development in STEM education.
When the Platform Learns the Language of Biology
Introducing Biology called for new thinking, both in content development and in technology. We needed not only to develop high-quality content, but also to make the structures of living organisms, biological principles and classifications, life processes, and the relationships among systems visible and understandable.
WorldView was therefore adapted to the distinctive demands of science education. We developed new technological solutions that made biological illustrations and diagrams interactive. Learners can zoom in on the images without losing clarity, then select interactive pins to access the accompanying explanations and supplementary materials.
In this environment, learners do more than read or observe. They examine structures, understand the functions of individual components, and discover how those components relate to one another.
They move from passive observers to researchers.
A Complete Grade 7 Biology Course in One Learning Environment
Biology launches on WorldView not as a collection of selected topics, but as a complete Grade 7 course: 4 thematic units, 46 lessons, more than 400 educational resources, and 10 laboratory activities.
The course covers the defining characteristics and classification of living organisms; prokaryotes, protists, fungi, lichens, and viruses; the diversity of the animal and plant kingdoms; animal organ systems, behavior, and communication; plant structure and reproduction; photosynthesis; cellular respiration; and much more.
The content is aligned with Armenia’s State Standard for General Education, but goes beyond textbook material. Each lesson combines key concepts, concise and in-depth explanations, and scientific illustrations. Learners can first grasp the core ideas and then explore them in greater depth, depending on their interests and level of readiness.
Scientists and Educators, Working as One Team
WorldView’s Biology content is being developed by a team of 15 specialists, bringing academic science into direct dialogue with classroom experience.
The team brings together DSc and PhD researchers in the biological sciences, professors and associate professors, researchers and lecturers from Yerevan State University, Yerevan State Medical University, and Khachatur Abovian Armenian State Pedagogical University, experienced biology and chemistry teachers, teacher trainers and mentors, and International Biology Olympiad coaches.
This range of expertise has made it possible to create content that is scientifically rigorous, pedagogically sound, and ready to use in the classroom.
From initial concept to publication on the platform, every resource passes through a rigorous, multi-stage process: content development, scientific and pedagogical review, proofreading, media selection and digitization, technical integration, and quality assurance.
The WorldView Story Continues—Its New Chapter Is About Life
Biology marks a new beginning for WorldView.
With the complete Grade 7 course now available to teachers and learners, our team is already developing Grade 8 Biology.
Each new grade brings WorldView one step closer to its larger goal: creating accessible, high-quality, contemporary educational content in Armenian for every school, teacher, and learner across Armenia.
Until now, WorldView has invited learners to travel through time and space. Today, within the same environment, they can explore the structure of the living world, understand how organisms function, reproduce, and develop, and discover the connections among the many forms of life.
