Financial Literacy: From Knowledge to Practice
A Joint Workshop by Visual Armenia Foundation and Ameriabank

On April 17, Visual Armenia Foundation hosted a joint educational workshop with Ameriabank at its office, titled “Financial Literacy: From Knowledge to Application.”
The event brought together educators, teachers, students, and parents on a single platform, emphasizing the importance of financial knowledge in modern life-and, more importantly, its transformation into practical, everyday skills.
At the opening of the workshop, the scope of collaboration between the two institutions was presented, highlighting that alongside improving educational quality and shaping a competitive generation, fostering financial thinking is an essential component of preparing individuals for the future.
“You are here because your schools have earned it – through your work, your mindset, and the value you create. Financial literacy may initially seem like a practical or narrowly specialized topic, but in reality, it is about real life – how we make decisions, how we understand value, and how we navigate an increasingly complex world.”
She further emphasized that at Visual Armenia, education is seen not merely as the transfer of knowledge, but as the formation of thinking – helping learners understand systems, recognize connections, and act with awareness.
This was followed by a presentation by Naira Yerkanyan, a WorldView teacher trainer, who introduced a project from one of the 2025 winning schools of the Smart Boards for WorldView Schools competition, titled “Alexander Mantashev: The Power and Value of Money.”
The presentation highlighted that Alexander Mantashev had applied principles over a century ago that are still considered foundational to successful business and sustainable economic practice today. His legacy reinforces a key idea: money is a tool, while the true objective is the creation of value.
The keynote speaker of the workshop, Ruzanna Grigoryan, Head of MyAmeria and MyAmeria Star products at Ameriabank, delivered a session on “Financial Literacy in Today’s World.”
The key topics necessary for taking the first steps into the world of financial literacy were discussed-from personal budgeting and a culture of saving to responsible money management, spending habits, the use of digital financial tools, and essential aspects of financial security.
At the conclusion of the event, participants engaged in an open discussion, exchanging experiences and reflecting on key takeaways. Participants also had the opportunity to interact with Mr. Hovhannes Ghazaryan, CEO of the Foundation and author of Brainograph EdTech. The conversation spanned from the original vision behind the platform’s creation to the evolving challenges and opportunities shaped by the rise of AI.
This initiative once again demonstrated that financial literacy is a life skill. It cultivates a culture of responsible decision-making, independence, and confidence in the future.
Visual Armenia Foundation will continue to implement educational programs in partnership with leading institutions, bringing together knowledge, technology, and practical application.
