Avetik Isahakyan House-Museum Hosts Launch of Literature on WorldView Educational Platform
On October 18, 2024, the Avetik Isahakyan House-Museum hosted the presentation of the Literature subject on the innovative WorldView educational platform. The launch of the subject was marked by the introduction of the topics Hovhannes Tumanyan and Avetik Isahakyan, the latter developed through a collaboration between the Visual Armenia Development Foundation and the Avetik Isahakyan House-Museum.
Staying committed to its needs-based and systematic development approach, the Visual Armenia Development Foundation has responded to the growing demand from the community of literature teachers and, several months ago, began intensively developing the Literature subject within the innovative WorldView educational program.
“We must recognize that the modern world has created new challenges in delivering educational and cultural content. Our aim is to do everything possible to engage Armenian children in the learning process, providing them with the opportunity to gain a competitive and up-to-date education. In this regard, we attach great importance to the role of museums as unique educational spaces and are eager to collaborate closely with them. I’m pleased that we’ve managed to create an environment on the WorldView platform where students can fully immerse themselves in their subject, explore, and truly connect with Armenian writers—in this case, Avetik Isahakyan, his life, patriotic work, and rich legacy,” said Hovhannes Ghazaryan, CEO of the Visual Armenia Development Foundation and creator of the WorldView platform.
“Imagine how captivating it is to study an author’s life when, through WorldView maps, interactive tools, images, and videos, you can actually ‘see’ and ‘hear’ the author while journeying through their experiences. We see tremendous potential in this platform and are eager to expand our collaboration, which will attract new groups of students to the museum. I am confident that the partnership between our institutions will continue,” said Armine Avetisyan, Director of the Avetik Isahakyan House-Museum.
The introduction of Literature into the WorldView platform complements a body of over 1,000 academic articles developed within the subjects of Armenian History, My Homeland, Geography, and Arts. This expansion offers teachers and students even more opportunities to develop interdisciplinary connections, exploring their country’s history, geography, scientific, literary, and cultural heritage from multiple perspectives through visual journeys across time and space.
The content created for the platform is distinctive in its academic precision, presentation style, and structure, allowing for a broader yet focused and in-depth exploration of the authors, going beyond the traditional lesson format. For Literature, we have selected the Vernatun literary group as our starting point, coinciding with the 125th anniversary of Vernatun this year. Next, Derenik Demirchyan and Levon Shant will be featured on the platform,” stated Ani Yeghiazaryan, Head of the Literature team at Visual Armenia.
Within the Literature subject on the platform, among the 109 articles, one can find titles like “Tumanyan’s Journey to the Front Line in a Secret Group,” “Shushanik Matakyan: Avetik Isahakyan’s Great Love and the Heroine of His Lyric Poetry,” “The Armenian Relief Committee: The First Link to the Diaspora,” “Lao Tzu: Yeghishe Charents’ Gift to A. Isahakyan,” and many other interesting topics.
The event at the Avetik Isahakyan House-Museum was attended by representatives from various museums, and educational institutions as well as literature teachers and students.
As part of the event, guests also enjoyed a screening of the animated film based on Isahakyan’s poem, “The Shepherds of Alagyaz.”
