Happy International Day of Charity. Today, the world honors individuals who have consciously chosen not to remain indifferent and to use their resources to benefit others.

However, this day is not only about recognition; it is also a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the importance of creating value through good deeds. Real charity should be enlightening, improve the quality of life, and empower others. Such actions have the potential to transform societies and open new horizons for future generations.

Education is the soil where the seeds of charity yield the greatest results. Acknowledging the strategic importance of this investment, for centuries, great Armenian philanthropists, progressive leaders, and innovators have focused on education, establishing schools, colleges, and universities through their personal efforts. This helped preserve national identity and culture during critical moments in history, ultimately allowing the re-establishment of Armenian statehood in the future.

Continuing this chain and her family’s decades-long charitable legacy especially, today, philanthropist Christine Simone, President of the Manoogian Simone Foundation, makes a significant contribution to the development of public education in Armenia. Her vision and desire was to look for ways to help bring about systemic change in the Armenian public schools so all the children in Armenia would benefit and become more engaged in their education and the teachers and educators would be empowered to reach their full potential. As part of this goal she has lent enormous support to Visual Armenia and integration of the WorldView platform into the public school system. We are grateful for her being with us, for being personally engaged to understand the issues faced by teachers, students, and schools in Armenia firsthand, and supporting the Visual Armenia educational programs not only financially but also with experience and advice.
