The Visual Armenia team visited basic school N41 in Gyumri
The Visual Armenia team recently visited basic school N41 in Gyumri – one among the 40 that won a smart board for their school in the competition “Smart-Displays for WorldView Schools 2023”. As a rule, visits like this have some background behind them.
The major donor of the Visual Armenia Development Foundation, the President of the Manoogian Simone Foundation, philanthropist Christine Simone and the school principal Hayastan Melikyan first met in Matenadaran in December 2023 at the award ceremony of “Smart-Displays for WorldView Schools 2023” competition winners. During a friendly conversation, the principal invited Ms. Simone to visit the school to see how they use the “WorldView” and how eager they are to start using all the functionalities of the platform in the teaching process once they receive the modern equipment. Ms. Simone said she would definitely and with pleasure come visit when she returned in the Spring.
Ms. Simone kept her promise and visited the school with the Visual Armenia team. Accompanied by Ms. Karapetyan, the guests toured the school, got acquainted with the current conditions both the challenges and opportunities for organizing a proper and decent educational process, and talked with students and teachers. They spent a short time observing a geography class in which the students were using their recently won Smart-Display.
During the conversation, the principal enthusiastically noted that both the students and the teachers intensively use the smart-display in almost all classes. She also added that sometimes there are even queues for using the Smart-Display.
It is remarkable that in a relatively short period of time the “WorldView” program has succeeded in serving its main objective and lays ground for even bigger goals ahead for Visual Armenia, for the Principals, the teachers and the students in the public school system.
